Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

So we spent this thanksgiving with Josh's family this year (Miss you Tiff!) It was a lot of fun and a lot of food!! Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays mainly because it makes you sit down and think about the many many things we're thankful for in this life. Here is a list of some of the things Josh and I are thankful for. (In no particular order)
  • A safe home to live in for a great price.
  • Our temple marriage.
  • Wonderful Families who love and support us.
  • Vehicles to drive.
  • Jobs that enable us to have Mu la. :)
  • Great friends that we enjoy spending our time with.
  • Josh breaking his wrist a blessing in disguise...( b/c that's all that happened in his motorcycle accident)
  • My interest in cooking.
  • Josh's mom for doing our dishes when she comes over :)
  • Our compatibility.
  • Josh's giving, loving, and patient personality.
  • Sweet nieces and nephews who make us laugh
  • blogspot... so we can keep up with our friends and family.
  • Fiona... our annoying, crazy, destructive, lovable feline.
  • Our health (BIG ONE)

Slagowski Family December 2007 - - Missing babies Akira, Amara, and Shaylie

Josh and his siblings. L-R Josh, Tammy, Mark, Trisha, Aaron, Tiffany, and Paul.

So I made Creamy Fresh Fruit Pie for thanksgiving and it was SOOO good!

1 9-inch pie crust or graham cracker crust
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
3/4-1 c. sugar
2 t. Vanilla
2 c. Heavy cream, whipped.
2 c. thinly sliced fruit (strawberries, peaches, raspberries, bananas, etc.)

*Bake and cool pastry shell. Set aside.
*Beat together cream cheese, sugar and vanilla. Whip cream separately. Fold or beat them together. Spread into baked pastry shell. Cover & Refrigerate. May be made 1 day in advance. Just before serving, cover the top with fruit.

**** I added a little bit of powdered sugar to make it a little sweeter.

Yummy pie! It was the best! And I have a correction to your post:
All of those babies WERE there! You just needed an ultrasonic camera to see them ;)
J/K I'm so glad my big tummy was hidden!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Ok, so I made that pie... and Curtis and I literally at the whole thing ourselves... not a forkful went to the kids. It was soo good!
And sure I'll make you a HP cake... you'll just have to come to Jersey to celebrate your b-day!(After your trip to Rexburg, you could make it here in like 12 hours with that speed)
